Waters Wide – 04/06/16 in Carrick on Suir

A brand new show called Waters Wide will be premiered in The Clancy Brothers Festival on Saturday the 4th of June in Carrick on Suir. It blends the songs, music, dance with stories, poetry and drama from Ireland, Wales and Scotland. We already have many from Wales coming over and would love to see the Welsh of Ireland there!

Chapel plaque update / Newyddion plac y capel

Learn Welsh with Duolingo

Duolingo, the free language-learning platform, now contains support for learning Welsh.   Duolingo includes a language-learning website and app for mobile devices, and provides extensive written lessons and dictation, with speaking practice for more advanced users.   The app is available on iOS, Android and Windows 8 and 10 platforms with over 120 million registered users.  The Welsh course has in excess of 70,000 users from all over the world and there is a group on Facebook where users can discuss matters related to the course.  For more information, visit the Duolingo website on https://www.duolingo.com or download the mobile app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.

Public lecture 25/04/16 Darlith gyhoeddus

As part of the 1916 centenary programme of the Irish branch of the Celtic League, the Welsh author and broadcaster Lyn Ebenezer will be giving a public lecture at 7pm on Monday 25th April at the Ireland Institute, Pearse Street, Dublin 2 on the subject of Frongoch and the birth of the IRA.   Lyn is the author of “Frongoch and the birth of the IRA”, which deals with the history of the camp in North Wales and its connection with the rebellion in Ireland.
