LIVE (Llŷn IVeragh Eco-museums)

LIVE (Llŷn IVeragh Eco-museums) is a new cross border sustainable tourism project taking place between South Kerry and Pen Llŷn, as part of the Ireland Wales Cooperation Programme.  Its overall aim is to enable coastal communities to promote their natural and cultural assets, creating opportunities for sustainable tourism, especially outside of the traditional peak tourist seasons.  Research associated with the project is about natural heritage and environmental knowledge relating to these two beautiful peninsulas, but is also focused on creating legacies, building on the connections between the communities of Pen Llŷn and Uíbh Ráthach, their shared heritage, cultures and languages. Mae LIVE (Llŷn IVeragh Eco-amgueddfeydd) yn gydweithrediad rhwng sefydliadau cymunedol, adrannau academaidd a llywodraethau lleol yng Nghymru ac Iwerddon.  Ei nod cyffredinol yw galluogi cymunedau arfordirol i wneud y gorau o’u hasedau naturiol a diwylliannol, er mwyn creu cyfleoedd ar gyfer datblygu twristiaeth gynaliadwy, yn enwedig yn y cyfnodau tu allan i’r cyfnodau sy’n boblogaidd gan dwristiaid yn draddodiadol.  Mae’r ymchwil sy’n gysylltiedig â’r prosiect yn ymwneud â threftadaeth naturiol a gwybodaeth amgylcheddol sy’n gysylltiedig â’r ddau benrhyn hardd hyn, ond hefyd yn canolbwyntio ar greu etifeddiaeth, gan adeiladu ar y cysylltiadau rhwng cymunedau Pen Llŷn ac Uíbh Ráthach, eu treftadaeth, eu diwylliannau a’u hieithoedd rhanedig.  Cymunedau gwledig yn gweithio gyda’i gilydd.
