Plaque for Welsh chapel Dublin / Plac i’r capel Cymraeg Dulyn

Draig Werdd – the Welsh Society in Ireland has successfully campaigned for protected status for the old Welsh chapel building in Talbot Street, Dublin and has now received permission from Dublin City Council for the erection of a plaque to commemorate its usage for over 100 years as a Welsh place of worship in Dublin.

The cost of producing and erecting the plaque is €2500.   Unfortunately this sum is beyond the limited finances of the society so we are looking for donations from people in Ireland, Wales and throughout the world who would like to contribute to this commemoration of the Welsh heritage in Ireland.     We would be very grateful for whatever financial support you can provide, however small – if you’d like to contribute to our fund, please go to https://www.gofundme.com/welshchapel.

Please circulate this message and the link to as many of your friends as you can via email, Facebook, Twitter etc.   Many thanks.

Plaque

Mae Draig Werdd wedi ymgyrchu’n llwyddiannus am statws gwarchodedig ar gyfer yr adeilad yr hen gapel Cymraeg hen yn Talbot Street, Dulyn ac mae bellach wedi derbyn caniatâd gan Gyngor Dinas Dulyn ar gyfer codi plac i goffáu ei ddefnydd ers dros 100 mlynedd fel safle addoli Cymraeg yn Nulyn.

Mae’r gost o gynhyrchu a chodi’r plac yn € 2500. Yn anffodus, mae’r swm hwn y tu hwnt i’r cyllid cyfyngedig y gymdeithas, felly rydym yn chwilio am roddion gan bobl yn Iwerddon, Cymru a ledled y byd a fyddai’n hoffi cyfrannu at goffáu’r dreftadaeth Gymreig yn Iwerddon. Byddem yn ddiolchgar iawn am ba bynnag gymorth ariannol y gallwch ei ddarparu – os hoffech chi gyfrannu at ein cronfa, ewch i https://www.gofundme.com/welshchapel.

Byddem yn falch pe gallech chi ddosbarthu’r neges hon a’r ddolen i gymaint o’ch ffrindiau ag y gallwch drwy e-bost, Facebook, Twitter ac ati.  Diolch yn fawr.
