Target reached! Targed wedi ei gyrraedd!

Thanks to a generous donation from the Presbyterian Church in Anglesey (which was responsible for managing the chapel in Dublin during its existence) we have now exceeded our target of €2500 for erecting a commemorative plaque on the old Welsh chapel in Dublin. We are currently in discussions with Dublin City Council regarding erection of the plaque and an unveiling ceremony, which is planned to take place early in the autumn. We will publish information about this when detailed arrangements have been decided.

Many thanks to all those who so generously donated to the fund – by doing this you have contributed to remembering and honouring those Welsh people who had the faith, self-confidence and vision to build the chapel and to maintain it as a place of worship and symbol of Welshness in Dublin for over 100 years.

Diolch i rodd hael o’r Eglwys Bresbyteraidd yn Ynys Môn (a oedd yn gyfrifol am reoli’r capel yn Nulyn yn ystod ei bodolaeth) rydym bellach wedi rhagori ar ein targed o €2500 i godi plac coffa ar yr hen gapel Cymraeg yn Nulyn. Rydym ar hyn o bryd mewn trafodaethau gyda Chyngor Dinas Dulyn ynglŷn â chodi’r plac a’r seremoni dadorchuddio, a fydd yn digwydd yn gynnar yn yr hydref. Byddwn yn cyhoeddi gwybodaeth am hyn ar ôl i’r manylion wedi eu penderfynu.

Llawer o ddiolch i bawb a gyfrannodd yn hael i’r gronfa – drwy wneud hyn yr ydych wedi cyfrannu at gofio ac anrhydeddu’r Cymry a gafodd y ffydd, hunanhyder a gweledigaeth i adeiladu’r capel ac i’w gynnal fel man addoli a symbol o Gymreictod yn Nulyn am dros 100 mlynedd.

We will be meeting on Bray seafront outside the National Sea Life Aquarium at 2.30pm. Make a note of the date and time in your diary and let your friends know – all are welcome!
