The Welsh chapel in Dublin / Y Capel Cymraeg yn Nulyn

Good news about the Welsh chapel in Dublin – thanks to the efforts of  Declan Kelly, the outside of the chapel has been cleaned up through the removal of the graffiti and old paint which had covered it and the surface repainted. The original Welsh Church inscription has also been uncovered. Declan has done a wonderful job on that so many thanks to him.

We will be contacting Dublin City Council shortly to discuss the possibility of erecting the plaque which was created in 2016 but not erected at the time due to the condition of the building.  We’ll post a status update on the website when available.

A history of the chapel can be found on the Features page of our website.

Newyddion da am y capel Cymraeg yn Nulyn – diolch i ymdrechion Declan Kelly, mae tu allan y capel wedi ei lanhau trwy gael gwared ar y graffiti a’r hen baent oedd wedi ei orchuddio a’r gwaliau wedi ei ail-baentio. Mae’r geiriau ‘Welsh Church’ hefyd wedi’i ddadorchuddio. Mae Declan wedi gwneud gwaith gwych ar hynny felly rydyn ni’n ddiolchgar iawn iddo.

Byddwn yn cysylltu â Chyngor Dinas Dulyn yn fuan i drafod y posibilrwydd o godi’r plac a gafodd ei greu yn 2016 ond na chafodd ei godi ar y pryd oherwydd cyflwr yr adeilad. Byddwn yn postio diweddariad ar y wefan gyda’r datblygiadau.

Mae hanes y capel i’w gael ar dudalen Erthyglau ar ein gwefan.
